Apollo 11 and the Moon Landing Quiz

Apollo 11 was the historic NASA mission that first landed humans on the Moon from July 16 to 24, 1969. The crew included Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins, and Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin. The mission fulfilled President John F. Kennedy’s 1961 goal to land a man on the Moon and return him safely to Earth before the end of the decade.

The spacecraft consisted of three parts: the Command Module Columbia, which orbited the Moon; the Service Module; and the Lunar Module Eagle, which carried Armstrong and Aldrin to the lunar surface at the Sea of Tranquility. Armstrong became the first human to walk on the Moon on July 20, 1969, followed by Aldrin. They spent about two and a half hours on the surface conducting scientific experiments, planting the American flag, and collecting samples before rejoining Collins in lunar orbit.
